Poetry

Sometimes

Sometimes

Sometimes I am

a consumer

trying to swallow all the words

on the page,

and every morsel I see on the street.

I must clean my plate.

Sometimes I am

a creator

in the kitchen of my life –

gutting fish, marinating in the sweetness

of the sauce.
